More than 10,000 people were without power Monday in New Orleans, primarily in Lakeview, Entergy said.
The outage includes all of Lakeview and West End, plus several lakefront neighborhoods and parts of Navarre.
Entergy was trying to determine the cause of the outage as of 1 p.m., according to Lee Sabatini, a spokesperson for Entergy. The outage was not intentional, she said.
Entergy will change to manual switching, Sabatini said, which means they will be adjusting the load so customers can get their power restored quicker.
As of 1:10 p.m., some customers reported their power had been restored.
At the outage’s peak around noon, about 10,100 customers in Orleans Parish were without power, according to Entergy. It dropped to 6,000 around 1 p.m.
