The folks at IndexIQ held a bell event recently at Nasdaq to promote the launch of a suite of exchange-traded fund products: The IQ U.S. Large Cap R&D Leaders ETF (LRND) , IQ U.S. Mid Cap R&D Leaders ETF (MRND) and IQ Global Equity R&D Leaders ETF (WRND) . The funds were actually launched in February, so let’s see how they’ve been performing so far.
IndexIQ has been around a while, making its mark by launching a suite of hedge fund replication products in 2009. The overall success of ETFs and in particular, IndexIQ, caught the attention of Insurance giant New York Life who, in 2014, acquired IndexIQ and rolled the group into NY Life’s Mainstay Investments Platform since rebranded to New York Life Investments.
